Resilience is a crucial skill in everyday (work) life. Today more than ever.
While stress has increased since the pandemic - at 44%, according to Gallup, it's at an all-time high - but life and work have always been challenging. Cultivating resilience helps us deal effectively with these challenges.
Resilient people are able to act thoughtfully when faced with unexpected changes and stressors, rather than just reacting. They not only face the difficulties, but use them to learn from them, to grow personally, and to enable new relationships and innovations. A resilient workforce can therefore be a company's greatest competitive advantage.
If we observe and ask people around us, one of the explanations is that we all want to feel less stressed and a little happier. We want to stay in the so-called “flow”. This means that we want to be less driven and digitally overstimulated at work and in everyday life. At the same time, this is often becoming increasingly difficult for us.
WOL Resilience addresses precisely these issues. A WOL Resilience Circle consists of three to five participants and serves as a learning, protective and experimental space at the same time. The circle meets for one hour per week 8 weeks . Here, tasks are worked out together with mutual support and feedback. There are also small daily tasks for all participants that a maximum of 10 minutes each day . In this way, small methods are practiced and established sustainably in everyday life through daily repetitions.
The 8 weeks are structured so that participants develop resilient skills: more control, clarity, compassion, self-confidence, calmness, satisfaction and commitment as well as building relationships with other people. The increase in your own perceived resilience is checked several times in the program as a self-assessment.
The most important thing in brief
What it's about The focus of the program is on experiencing, strengthening and increasing personal resilience. Through short daily exercises, mindfulness is integrated more into everyday life and well-being increases.
Target group for the program The program and its contents are suitable for all people who like to work, reflect and learn in a self-organized manner in small groups. No prior knowledge is required, just a willingness to get involved in the program and take the time to do it.
Minimum number of participants The program only makes sense if a group of at least 15 people from your company takes part. There are no upper limits.
Time frame and effort The program runs for 8 weeks. A start is possible at any time after consultation and advance planning. The participants meet once a week for 60 minutes and invest 5-10 minutes daily in exercises and reflection. There will be 3 accompanying events, each lasting 1 hour.
Total time investment: 16 hours

The five principles of WOL resilience
relationships and exchange
Exchanging ideas with others broadens our perspectives and strengthens our resilience. Through open conversations and the shared exchange of experiences, we learn from and with each other and support each other. In this way, we build a strong network that offers us support and new solutions in difficult times.
Self-reflection
By regularly pausing and reflecting on our experiences, we recognize patterns and can make targeted changes. In this way we develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and our reactions to challenges.
Develop mental skills
Through targeted exercises and reflective thinking, we can strengthen our concentration and problem-solving skills. This is how we develop a more resilient attitude towards challenges.
Growth mindset
Approaching things openly and curiously and discovering the diverse possibilities and developing them further for ourselves.
Energy management
Through conscious breaks and recovery we find a balance between tension and relaxation. In this way, we remain productive in the long term and can face challenges with more strength and endurance.

"Resilient organizations don't just recover from adversity or change, they thrive. They absorb the shocks and turn them into opportunities to achieve sustainable, inclusive growth.
—McKinsey
How Working Out Loud® works
Exchange in small, familiar groups
Working and exchanging ideas in a confidential, psychologically safe environment promotes support for one another, a sense of community and human connection.
Everyone works towards an individual goal
Each participant sets their own (learning) goal for the 12 weeks. This promotes intrinsic motivation, increases active engagement and makes learning possible on the side and through reflection.
A structured curriculum
Clearly defined weekly structures, processes and exercises provide a simple framework for working and learning on your own topic in a self-organized way in a group.
Establish new habits over time
Through gradual practice, week after week, sustainable habits are built and a new mindset is cultivated, useful for achieving any goal.
