Self-efficacy – Future Skill for Leadership & Resilience

Today we are talking about the topic of self-efficacy .

A word that hopefully piques your curiosity. Because it contains a small detail that makes a big difference: We deliberately capitalize the word "WE."

What does self-efficacy mean?

Self-efficacy is the confidence in one's own abilities to successfully overcome challenges and actively influence one's own future.

It strengthens the sense of agency and competence – and has a proven positive effect on motivation, resilience, and creativity . This makes self-efficacy one of the key future skills of our time.

Self-efficacy arises from togetherness

But true self-efficacy doesn't just arise in the individual, but in collaboration.

Self-efficacy develops in relationships, meaning it changes depending on the situation and environment. Even though it begins with introspection, it often becomes more apparent when reflected by others.

When people empower each other, feel seen, and have an impact first individually and then together – then magic happens, for themselves and others.

The ability to actively shape the future

Self-efficacy is the ability to actively shape change with clarity and commitment – in one's own mind, in the team, and in the system. And the knowledge that one can do it and that one is confident enough to take on such tasks.

The good news: Like any other skill, self-efficacy can be strengthened in a targeted manner. With the right support, honest self-reflection—and small, consistent steps in everyday life.

Psychological roots – and future skills today

The term originally comes from psychology (Albert Bandura). Today, it is considered a key factor for motivation, resilience, and the ability to change . The World Economic Forum lists self-efficacy as one of the most important future skills of our time:

“Self-efficacy is one of the key competencies of the future – and is central to motivation, resilience, and leadership in the digital age.”

An online program for more self-efficacy – especially for women

When was the last time you felt truly effective?

What would you do if you were sure you could make a difference?

This is exactly where we come in with our new program: Strengthening self-efficacy – first in the ME and then in the WE.

Three levels for sustainable impact

In live online sessions with all participants and then in small mastermind groups, always interactive, we work on three levels:

  • Thinking – Gaining Clarity

  • Feeling – developing attitude

  • Act – make an impact

The goal: to empower participants to recognize and actively shape their sphere of influence. With courage, with focus, and in connection with themselves and with us.

From self-doubt to clarity. From a feeling of helplessness to inner strength. From functional mode to active creative mode.

More self-efficacy through the Circle of Influence

Coach Nathalie has prepared something for you: a taster of the program – for you or your team.

On our 3-page document, we explain the Circle of Influence , there is a short reflection exercise, and—if you like—a 10-day challenge.

Simply explained, directly applicable and a powerful tool to strengthen self-efficacy in everyday life.

Why Self-Efficacy Fits Connecting Humans

Why does the topic of self-efficacy fit so well with Connecting Humans ? Because self-efficacy is the foundation of social fitness —and social fitness is our mission.

We strengthen connection, trust, and the ability to change—in teams, organizations, and within yourself. Without self-efficacy, this wouldn't be possible.

People without personal responsibility, without clarity about who they are, what they can do and where they want to go, do not have a good relationship with themselves – and therefore also not with others.

For more clarity, connection and effectiveness.
